In the second quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing sector in Oceania saw varied performances across key apps on the Android platform. According to data from Sensor Tower, the following apps were the top performers in this category.
Uber - Request a ride experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, beginning at around 13.5K and reaching approximately 18.4K by the end of June. The app also maintained a high level of weekly active users, peaking at over 840K but seeing fluctuations down to around 735K before rising again.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw its weekly downloads increase from about 8.6K to over 10K by the end of the quarter. Active users presented a mixed trend, starting at 266K and showing a slight decline to 237K before recovering to 260K.
Grab - Taxi & Food Delivery reported a gradual increase in weekly downloads, climbing from around 5.6K to over 7K. However, its weekly active users showed a slight decrease, from approximately 45K down to 41K towards the end of the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a modest growth in downloads, moving from 5.5K to about 6.2K. Active users for this app increased steadily, starting at 104K and reaching about 148K by the quarter's end.
Bolt: Request a Ride showed a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting at 1.9K and peaking at over 6K. Its active users also increased, beginning at 15K and reaching approximately 22K.
